Anti-fraud expert and fraud examiner Isaac Obour has warned that cybercrime has become a major and growing threat, driven by the rapid shift to digital transactions and increased reliance on internet-based systems.
Speaking on the JoyNews AM Show, he said the scale and complexity of cybercrime make it a critical issue for individuals, businesses and the institutions that serve them.
Small signals matter
Fraud prevention is often built from small decisions: verifying a request through a second channel, refusing to share a one-time code and pausing when urgency is being used as a weapon.
Public education, responsible reporting and stronger institutional controls must work together. No single actor can solve the problem alone.
